Creativity & Aesthetics

As a designer, creativity, and aesthetics have always been a foundation. I believe this expertise area is one of the most valuable assets a designer can develop and is the driving force for innovation and breathes life into concepts.  For me, creativity is about solving problems and re-imagining how things could be. One of my favorite stages in a design process is ideation and brainstorming, as it allows me to explore possibilities and challenge existing norms. Aesthetics, on the other hand, are what give depth and meaning to a design, ensuring it resonates with users on a sensory and emotional level. While creativity comes naturally to me, it’s not without its challenges. I’ve found generating ideas has felt pretty intuitive, whereas formulating my aesthetic style has been a constant process of self-discovery. This is influenced not only by my evolving identity as a designer but also by external trends and the contexts in which I work.

Future Steps

Moving forward, I want to continue refining my approach to creativity and aesthetics by embracing a more experimental approach. One of my goals is to practice creative making without being tied to a specific outcome, allowing myself to freely explore materials, forms, and ideas. This could help me break away from constraints and tap into new sources of inspiration. Additionally, I intend to further develop my aesthetic identity. While it evolves, I hope to find a balance between adapting to trends and staying true to my vision as a designer. To do this, I intend to immerse myself in creative processes that are driven by probing and reflection, like open-ended ideation sessions, and collaborative design experiments.
