"Lovely Meat Co." focused on designing a speculative kitchen appliance for the year 2040, enabling users to grow, personalize, and process cultured meat at home.

Lovely Meat Co.

By incorporating theories like Agapé, Everyday Design, and Value Sensitive Design, the project addressed the emotional and cultural barriers associated with lab-grown meat while fostering sustainability and meaningful user experiences. This project introduced me to speculative design, pushing me to think beyond immediate possibilities and envision solutions for long-term societal challenges. I developed skills in user testing, iterative prototyping, and integrating emotional design into physical artifacts. I also learned to balance technical feasibility with meaningful user interactions, using design to create a deeper connection between people and future technologies.

"Lovely Meat Co." reinforced my belief that design can bridge the gap between innovation and societal acceptance. It emphasized the importance of empathy and co-creation in tackling cultural and environmental issues. This experience solidified my commitment to designing artifacts that inspire reflection and foster meaningful connections, both between users and technology, and within society as a whole.
